Why should you consider the profile for your clients

Provide self-awareness for individuals on a spectrum of left-right hemisphere dominance and motivation in their role in an enterprise

Every person uses both hemispheres in complementary ways all the time.

The dominance of one hemisphere over another becomes evident in childhood and is associated with an individual’s place on spectrum of behaviours. The concept of hemisphere dominance can be used metaphorically to also incorporate features of decision-making in the Pre-frontal cortex of the brain and also individuals’ responses to threat and challenge in the Amygdala and Brain Stem.

The spectrum we have selected in the profile helps an individual to be self-aware of his or her place on the spectrum and appropriate role in any enterprise.

This diagram indicates the dominance of left hemisphere processing on the left of the spectrum and right hemisphere innovative abilities on the right.

Strong innovative abilities are associated with intra-preneurship and entrepreneurship.

The ‘middle ground’ is occupied by individuals who are able to adapt the use of both hemispheres to their role in the enterprise. They are more enterprising than process-orientated people, but not as innovative as intra(entre)preneurs.

The measures of conformity/non-conformity and the dominance of specific motivation styles have proved valuable in helping individuals understand their thinking and behaviours and thus accept and value themselves for who they are. This includes managers, and CEOs.

They have been especially valuable in helping those who lead or manage a team to understand and appreciate their own bias in leadership and management and how this ‘fits’ with the individuals in their team. (See ‘balanced team’.)
